May is Hepatitis Awareness Month, and every year on May 19th, National Hepatitis Testing Day serves as an important reminder that millions of people are living with viral hepatitis and may not even know it. During Hepatitis Awareness Month, we take time to educate our communities, encourage testing, and connect people to life-saving treatment and care.
Hepatitis C is a virus that affects the liver and often has little to no symptoms for years. Many people with Hepatitis C have no symptoms for years, which is why testing is so important. Left untreated, it can cause serious liver damage, but the good news is that Hepatitis C is curable with treatment that can take as little as 8–12 weeks.
At Central Outreach Wellness Center, we’re committed to making testing and treatment accessible through our Hep C My Way program. We offer:
- Rapid Hepatitis C testing
- Telehealth and in-person treatment
- Free or low-cost medication assistance
- Community outreach and mobile services
- Compassionate, judgment-free care
Our Hep C Cure Squad works directly in communities, recovery centers, and outreach settings to connect people to care and remove barriers to treatment.
This National Hepatitis Testing Day, take the first step toward protecting your health. Whether you’re looking for testing, treatment, or support, we’re here to help.
