The Hugh Lane Foundation
The Hugh Lane and Stacy Lane Foundation (Lane Foundation) was established in 2017, and is named partly in memorial to Hugh Lane and his battle with HIV. The foundation was formed to identify and execute effective models of outreach to under-served people living with HIV (PLWH). The foundation's focus is on under-served populations in Western Pennsylvania. The foundation provides and supports HIV and STI education, testing, medical care, and social services to vulnerable and marginalized groups who are not aware of, and not benefiting from advances in HIV prevention and treatment.
The Hugh Lane and the Dr. Stacy Lane Foundation is a 501(c) 3 organization, was founded to:
Reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS in the Western PA Region
Provide education, counseling and testing for HIV and other STIs
Enable social service support for people living with HIV/AIDS and those at risk.
The Hugh Lane Foundation executes its mission through The Central Outreach Wellness Center (COWC). This structure allows the foundation to provide education, and outreach services with a seamless connection to the COWC's physicians and professional medical staff. Hence, at this proposal's Wellness Van events, treatment can directly follow a positive test result, and enrollment in PrEP can immediately follow prevention education; without the need for referral to a third party physician.
Inclusive healthcare with dignity and respect.
